We have a verse-a-day flip calendar on our dinette table, and today’s verse made me think of our RV lifestyle. “The Lord says, ‘I will make my people strong with power from me!… Wherever they go, they will be under my personal care.’” Zechariah 10:12 TLB

This is not the usual version of the Bible that I read, but I like the wording: “Wherever they go…”

We “go” a lot. In fact, we are “going” right now! We are heading for our next project with CWCf in Florida to serve at a camp by replacing hurricane damaged roofs, among other things. Mike will be doing the construction work with other volunteers while I help in the kitchen to feed all the volunteers.

But back to “going.” Has God sent you anywhere recently? Is He asking you? It may be across the sea, across the country, or just across the street. Where can we go to serve others? Where can we go to share His Good News? ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE! And the best thing is that God has promised to keep us strong. He will be with us wherever we go. What an encouragement it is to know He is always with us. He is always strengthening us. He will never ask us to do something that we cannot do in His strength.

Along with the verse on our flip calendar is always a noteworthy quote. Today’s quote was by Corrie ten Boom (who did some very hard things for Christ):

If God sends us on stony paths, he provides strong shoes.

I have to admit, some days, I’m just wearing spiritual flipflops and am not prepared to do those hard things. Other days, I’m prepared with hiking boots—spiritual ones, as I do not own any physical ones! I also find that the state of my footwear depends upon my dependance on God and how much I am communing with Him. Wimpy quiet times equal wimpy flipflops or, perhaps, blisters from uncomfortable shoes!

Let us remain in Him. He will keep us and give us strength to do what and go where He asks.
